We want all season tires for the SS
Anyone with me? It snows maybe 2-3 days a year here. I DO NOT want to spend $1300 on a set of rims and tires for 2 days of snow. I understand the reason for Ultra High performance summer tires being standard on the car, but GM should at least offer the option of a tire such as the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S which is an Ultra High Performance All Season Tire. Anyone with me?

I hear you on that. It doesn't snow very often where I live but it can be unpredictable. Even if I get another set of winter wheels I have nowhere to store them.

All-seasons are never good enough for winter. Get some new tires, and stop being a bitch, as the poll option says.
Seriously, you can have a little bit of both worlds with all-season tires, but they just don't handle either extreme. You'll do fine on a day with a temperature of 40-80 degrees, but better tires are a necessity by the time your local grass gets frosty or on the hottest days of the year.

We only get one or two decent snowstorms a year here. And 'decent' for this area means 3-8 inches, RARELY more. We just don't get a lot of snow. And for the occasional time it does snow, I'm only 3.5 miles from work, with both my house and workplace just off a major road that is plowed early.
Ice will worry me more than snow. And almost nothing is any good on ice anyway. |

Your buying a high performance car... It's not designed to drive in the winter. If you want a "daily driver" that you can drive all year buy the V6 (it comes with all season tires.).
No, performance tires only on the SS.

I would love all season tires. I get only 1 snow a year pretty much and then it's at most 4-5 inches which isn't enough to warrant spending $1,200+ on a set of snow tires plus I live next to a major highway and only .5 miles from work so they wouldn't even get much use to start with.

I am sure you can get someone to buy the new summer ones off your car when you get it. Then you can go buy what you need.
I figure I will need a tire fund and a speeding ticket fund when my RS/2SS Camaro gets here. LOL |

All seasons would be nice. The freeways here puddle up soo bad, that All seasons do make a difference all year round. If I dont get all seasons, I think I will buy a cheap set of rims with some really good snow tires for when I drive up the mountain to the ski resort or make my yearly trip to Northern Utah to Snowboard. And if I decide to visit Montana, I would feel much more confident on the drive through Idaho with Winters. Last time I went through, it was in the middle of the a pretty bad snow storm, so the highway was pretty bad.

I live in NY. I drove on summer tires for 4 winters. 3 in my G35 coupe on 245/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sports and 1 in my GTO on 235/40/18 Bridgestone Potenza RE040s.
I voted option 3. I just never got around to actually buying the snows.
