go to the Z28 thread and explain to me why the Z28 has to be the GT500 killer. I'm not going to get into yes not yes not debates. if you have an opinion please back it up instead of saying yes it does. but in the right thread. this thread is about two sep. engine options for the Z28.

Being a slight history buff and in my almost thorough studies of all things camaro(wasnt alive or even thought of when they came out) the appropriate solution would be to put the smaller displacement engine in the car like the original z had, if we all recall the original z had the high comp 302(destroked 350 but high rev) and obviously the ss had the 350 and the 396 as options, so if we are on the retro kick and z28 lives then use the s/c engine, but then what do I know

Is the Z28 really coming out in 2011 or is that just a guess?

its just a guess but, seeing that fuel prices are rising, 2011 should be a reasonable time to wait, longer than that and the possibilities look grim
also the LS7 sells as a create engine from GMPP, and some people are going to install this engine into the camaros, I know I would if I had the money. |

How true, just wait 'til next year when the SS's hit the street and see how many GT drivers get spanked. ")

In staying with GM historically borrowing something already resident in their high output Vette. I was in my chevy dealer's last week and reviewed the 650 HP powerhouse under the hood of the new Corvette ZR1 plumply retail priced @ $148K CAD....... a SC 6.2 Liter !!! or shall it be a V6 with a twin turbo package? You can bet that GM will tack on a pretty $7-9 G's for this comeback for the much touted and much loved Z28......IMO ........
Are we happy now ........ I will be looking at it in the Chevy showrooms in Sept 2010 ???? It is a mattter of modifying my already 3/4 paid off 2SS with an Eaton supercharger or maybe the SS will get similiar upgade to attract my fancy. Regardless; it appears Chev is commited to satisfying all Camaro lovers, past, present, and wannabees alike.......... IMO .........

There is a new Chevy commercial showcasing their next 3 (three) preproduction models; the Volt, the Cruze, and suprisingly enough, the Chevy camaro "Z28" ! Read it and weep there recent Mustang GT owners !
