Alignment kit needed for lowering springs?
Do you need an alignment kit to get a proper alignment when installing springs? I have Pfadt springs, and called some installers and some said buying a alignment kit is necessary for proper alignment....only problem is i was told the kit is 800$.

For some lowering springs you don't need an alignment kit for the front. The most you may need are some rear camber adjuster. You can get them from Wretched Motorsports for around $200ish.

When we were designing our drop spring kit, we wanted a streetable solution that didn't drop the car so much as to make it difficult to align with the stock suspension components.
Here is a link to our alignment specs, we haven't found a case where you couldn't reach these alignment specs with our drop springs and the stock suspension adjustment. The Performance Street recommendation is a nice compromise between tire wear and good handling, and should absolutely be attainable with the stock adjustments. http://www.pfadtracing.com/blog/wp-c...-alignment.pdf |

As Jason stated, the fronts will be close (though is still isn't a bad idea to have an alignment done)
The rears you may be able to get them close to Pfadts post, but we have found improved balance using our specs, and you will not be able to get enough positive camber in the rear with the stock bolts. At Pedders we don't always follow the accepted line of what is expected to be best, we test and at times find alternatives that provide added benefit, When we do a Camaro install one of the things that we try to do is to help the balance of the car, we can do this by adjusting the camber in the rear to approx. 1/2 of what the front is. But, to accomplish this you will likely need to have the rear camber bolts that allow more adjustment then the stock bolts will allow. In addition the Pedders bolts are much much stronger, and don't strip the eccentric like the stock parts do. |
