I am hoping I will have it installed correctly. Will try to snap some shots during the installation and after its done. :P

I was reading on the forums and some members has mentioned that they had bought a spare PCV hose when they got their catch can as a back up just in case if they ever wanted to go back stock. Any idea where might I be able to pick one of those up, how much is it and what exactly is it called (so if I end up having to call dealer or something I know what I am asking for.. :P)?

Yea go for it man... I was reading on the forum and read some members advising that you should perform a seafoam treatment once if you have that many miles on it (just throwing this out here in case you did not know) before putting it on.. but definitely go for it. The moment I saw the thread made by Tyler showing the stuff that came out of catch can of a Camaro, I was like naah I have to install this in if it does not hurt my warranty, not letting that gunk go back in the engine.

As the title says, I wanted to find out if installing the catch can will void any sort of warranty on my new Camaro? Its only been 6 days since I got it and I asked about this at the dealership I got my Camaro from and the person seemed to not even know what the purpose of catch can is and told me not to bother installing it. So, I thought I would ask here. I have 3 Free dealer offered oil changes on my car. So the car will be going there for the first 3 oil changes and I am certain they will see the install. I also saw the images of the kind of gunk that could go back in the engine if I don't have a catch can, thanks to Elite Engineering thread on the forums created by Sales@JDP...

So back to the original questions. Does this void any of my warranties? The 3yr/36k mile bumper to bumper or others that come along. (Sorry if its a silly question, but I am not well informed when it comes to this kind of topic and this is my first new car, so I would hate to screw it up.)

Thanks in advance.
Hello pmandeep,

To answer your question, the catch can enhancement does not automatically void your warranty. It is very possible that it will however as it is causing the vehicle to operate not as designed. If there is an issue with your vehicle and it is found to be a result of the catch can, then that will void your warranty. The issue would have to be diagnosed by a GM certified technician in order for that to happen. I hope this helps.

I had mine on when i had to get my lifters replaced and the mechanic at the dealer that did the work noticed it and actually knew what it was and said he wished he would see them on more vehicles.
Very good point made Dtrimpi87. You are correct in saying it will not void the warranty unless first diagnosed to be the cause of the issue.

Thank you for the reply Reggie, I did figure as much from those previous replies. So when I am installing the catch can, I will observe as much caution as I can and make sure I don't mess it up.

Again to one my previous questions that I asked earlier today but later in the thread... Can someone please tell me where can I find a spare PCV hose, how much is it and if I have to order it from dealer what do I refer it to as? So the dealer would know what I am talking about. :P

Thanks.

I think going back can be done fairly quickly. The reason I want a spare is because if I have a spare PCV hose I can not only return to stock quickly, but if I ever decide to level up to SS in future by trading it in or parting with it in future then I won't have to sit around looking for that hose I will have it on hand to do the swap.

You have the honor of owning a 1LE and post this? I hope you are kidding. NO IT WONT. Most of the MISINFORMATION/wrong information in this LFX forum is from SS owners, either meaning well or just screwing around in here.

Thanks Reggie as well.

GM dealers (not just chevy, although they are the biggest customers) are some of our biggest customers for the RX can and more and more contact us as a way to prevent the oil buildup issues with the ZL1's, ZR1's, and Caddy CTS-V's and of course all DI engines.
