Dash ABL Problem
I purchased a dash ambient lighting kit and am having a problem with the light going all the way across the passenger side. Has anyone else had this issue and was there a way to fix it? Thanks!

which kit did you get?
The pipe may have to be turned a little. did you put a gap behind the dash trim? |

I've turned the pipe several ways to try and this is actually the best result. As far as the gap behind the dash trim, could you explain what you mean? Thanks!

Yes, whose kit do you have?
It looks like the pipe is too low in the middle. |

Nothing you do with the kit will make the lighting even all the way across. It will be bright on the ends and dim in the middle, it drove me nuts. I ended up buying EL wire off of eBay and used this with the acrylic light tube to make the light even. I tried everything with the kit and the acrylic tube and nothing worked to get the light even.
Look for EL wire in blue/green color, I think bought a 60" length of it and just strung it along the top of the light tube. Here is how mine turned out. Hard to tell from the pics but the light is almost perfectly even all the way across the dash. Russ |

+1 on the SJM Kit
Gap method is putting weather stripping behind the dash pieces to create a gap and turning the pipe to shine upward onto the dash and not through the applique. So either 1)your pipe is sagging in the middle. 2)it is a cheaper pipe. 3)the dash piece is not gapped right and blocking the light from shining upward. I have a DIY on dash and door ABL with tons of pics somewhere on here. |

sjmautoprod, you're selling different versions of this pipe, which one is this in the picture?

That is the standard, dash-pipe kit. We also have standard door pipes (top and bottom).

I'm trying to order the ABL LED's on your site, but it wont put the LED's in my cart when I click "Add to Cart". But I am able to add the light pipes.

For the LEDs, you need to choose both a color, and, if you want t-taps or not.
If you want a complete dash kit (pipes, LEDs, and harness), you can search for "5th-gen Camaro Dash ABL Kit". That's everything in one item. |
