2016 Camaro SS VS Shelby GT500 (drag strip)

Found this video, shelby driver probably spun a lot but damn that Camaro ran 11.7 only with a Throttle body and some slicks.

GT500 driver had a horrible launch. I'd like to see a more competitive drag run with equally skilled drivers. 13 seconds is just embarrassingly slow on the Mustang driver's part.

Definitely not a 2013/2014 GT500. I ran an 11.7 at 127mph bone stock down to the tires in my GT500.

I'm willing to bet the Camaro would run the same time, or very close to it with the exact same set up, minus the throttle body. Assuming there's no tune accompanying the throttle body.

Those slicks make a huge difference. I can't tell though if Shamoo was spinning his tires or just had a bad launch.

That is either a 10,11,or 12. You can tell by the taillights. By the sound it does not sound that upgraded. Its not a 13 or 14. Which means it does not have the better blower on it. At any rate 13's in the car = I can not drive.

Pretty dang difficult to launch these high hp manual vehicles without a bunch of practice or experience.

My fastest time with a 2012 M6 ZL1 - 12.7 (engine always bogged or tires were blown away)
My fastest time with a 2016 A8 SS - 11.9 (Ran 12.2's my first 3 attempts)

Indeed. But yet one must face the reality of poor driver does not = what the car can do. You put competent driver behind the wheel of both cars and it become apparently clear what car can do what.

I see this at our drag strip where people sit and wonder how they loss to a car their forums claim was slow because it was said to be true on the internet. I actually had someone tell me that before. I had a ringer because their car was supposed to be faster than my car according to the forums.....

this thread was not intended to be a mustang vs camaro thread. I posted this solely to demonstrate the time the Camaro ran with only slicks

Did you really just try to insult the curb weight of a GT500? Not only did they weigh less than a Gen5 SS but a Gen6 still isn't light enough to call 3800lbs heavy.
