Installed Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back tonight

Wow......unbelievable difference.

I'm not sure how to explain the sound of the stock exhaust other than it sounded like it was sitting in my back seat when leaning into the gas...and not a pleasant sound.

The Flowmaster American Thunder cat back is PERFECT! Nice deep growl, but not too loud. I can't get over the difference....hell....I actually think it's more quiet than stock...but deeper....very nice. Makes me want to get into the gas every chance I get, and I did NOT want a loud exhaust...just something with a nice muscle car sound.

Not yet, but there are plenty videos on this thread page located above as a "sticky", and also on Youtube. I currently only have a phone to do video....and I don't think it would do justice to the sound. This system is about as loud as I would want to go regarding the sound.

I've found myself "leaning" on the gas more with this exhaust because it sounds so nice! Very happy with it.

My buddy owns a repair shop so we had the tools and hoist available for this job. We had it hanging on the car within 40 min. and installed the "skip shift" eliminator, all within an hour. Very easy.

I have this system as well....I posted a few vids on youtube. It was exactly what I was looking for....sounds mean as hell when your on the gas ....then it lowers to a nice growl when you are cruising. Great system.

Can you tell me where the proper lift points are for the 2010? We are doing the install in our garage and want to make sure we've got the locations correct before we attempt it.

I was thinking about getting this exhaust, but i was hoping it was way louder than the stock exhaust at all rpm's, probably not the system for me.

It sounds even better with a Magnaflow true "X" pipe as well as a good CAI and tuning out the AFM. YOu will constantly be getting in the gas!

well it is much louder than the stock system at an idle and all thru the rpm's......but if you want something really really loud this might not be it. I have a cold air intake on my LS3 already and its plenty loud enough for me

"hell....I actually think it's more quiet than stock...but deeper....very nice."

Surely it has to be louder than stock, right?

Yes louder, but a much lower growl.....so it appears quiet, until you lean on the gas! The stock exhaust sound when leaning on the gas was...well, was just nasty sounding. Sounded like kids banging pots & pans together...lol. The Flowmaster is nice & deep sounding.

I love mine, it's loud enough to get noticed, but quiet enough to take a long drive.

I'm also thrilled with mine, they make some head turning noise when you put your foot in it. The wife's 2LT also has the axle back on her's and even it sounds good for a V6 ...

Installed mine on 4 jack stands. I love the sound. I did have a vibration noise which was annoying until I found out that I installed one of the tailpipe clamps upside down. The bolt was rubbing the frame.
It is perfect now. I did put a few spacers in the cross member and ma order a cnc machined one which has better clearence for 3 in pipes.

I have it on a LS3.
