I got a glimpse of "Bracket" racing at Pony Wars. I would think if you build a car to haul ass, you would haul ass every time......maybe? Perhaps? Why in the world would you want to go slower than your best time is beyond me. Saw the cars locking their brakes before they trip the timer at the end. Couldn't wrap my head around it.

The thing with bracket racing is that you pick a time, say 13.00. Your opponent (PQ) picks 12.00. If I finish with a 13.05 and PQ finishes with a 12.99. I win the race. But let's say I get a 15.73 and PQ gets a 11.89, I win again because PQ beat his bracket time.

Call me simple but I believe first to the line is the winner. I had to ask Bruce what the hell was going on.

It just takes the fun out of going all out. as long as there are enough cars for some close racing, we will run heads up classes at the fest.

Well, imho, bracket racing sounds dumb! (or I'm missing something, so maybe I'm dumb.) Anyway, I like grudge races! Fastest car wins. BTW, I have no idea how they folks at C5 plan to implement these races, if at all. I'm just keeping track of the proposed grudge races. I know the race between GTA and PQ made the Fest (and the build up to the Fest) more fun for me (and I think many others), so I thought it would be cool to see more head-to-head match ups at Fest III. |

IMO as long as you match people up with someone who's got roughly the same mods then there's no need for bracket racing.
Hmmm Em, would it be possible to organize these grudge races? Like FI, stock, bolt-ons, etc? That way us N/A folks won't have to challenge y'all and your fancy supercharges |
