I disagree about monster. They're damn good cables. I have one for my les Paul guitar and you can hear the difference between that and some cheaper cable. I have a monster hdmi and I don't have probs with it either.

I love the Bose in my daily driver 05 2500 hd crew. It rocks better than the Boston system in my camaro. I am however a kid of the late 60s so my hearing might be compramised.

The BOSE that was in my 04' CTS was not too impressive. Better than the BA Premium i have now but, marginally. Now if i could only find a way to slap my Klipsch home theatre system in the Camaro all would be good.

Monster cables are decent, but extremely overpriced. If you want quality cables for cheap, check out monoprice.com. This article discusses why Monster is what it is today: http://damon4.com/Default.aspx?blogentryid=21 Or this one: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38731070...less-upgrades/

Try to find a well engineered aftermarket system that is tuned specifically for our Camaro. Any vehicle with a Bose system as OEM has been tested, tuned, and thoroughly reviewed before being released.
Oh, and the QC1.5's = awesome! Yes, the are expensive, but there is a reason for that. Try them back to back with a lower quality Phillips or Sony "noise cancelling" set, and you'll hear what I mean.

I'd surely like to know, because I've yet to hear anyone say their aftermarket system sounds worse than their OEM system.
Bose is a joke in the A/V world - not because they have bad products, but simply because of their shady marketing strategies and ridiculously marked up prices.

In the past I have not been a fan of Klipsch speakers. The treble output from their horns cut right through my head and for me they were fatiguing to listen to. I understand the newer models are less so.

The Bose system in wife's '04 Tahoe kills the Bose systems that were in my 3 SRX's and my '11 CTS. My guess is there is decontenting going on in the specs by GM.
I was recently in a '11 porsche Panamera that had a nice Bose system. But overall Bose is crap. I have friends that have owned the self powered speaker Bose systems in their Acuras and they all go out after a couple of years. And are very expensive to replace. Amar Bose is a classic American success story. He came up with an idea, patented it, consolidated his position and put a big price on his products then marketed it to the lemmings of the World. It's really more a business story than an audio one. When his patents ran out on the Home Theater in a Box in 2000, every single HTiB that came out was superior and cheaper than the Bose products. |
