^^^ ...This may just be the answer right here! When the original COPO cars were built the COPO Camaro was only allowed to be ran in the all new AHRA Pro Stock class.."IF" atleast 50 production models were made available to the general public. It would make sense for them to offer a "limited" run of street legal COPO's now. Especially being that the LS7 is a low production engine anyway. ............ ..Food for thought for sure..

Didn't someone say that the VIN card was preliminary and no way complete? Who knows what if any of it was the real deal. I was just giving a What If scenario...

I'm not sure what their marketing strategy will be if it is a completely different model and not an engine option only. Unless its a street version of the COPO. The line-up will be extremely crowded if its a Z28, IMO. Either way I am interested to see "if" this even becomes reality and if so , to what extent.

If they build an LS7 based Camaro it will be a Z28 you can bet on it. And if they build it, it will market itself. A 1LE + ZL1 Brakes + Aero + LS7 = Z28 in every way possible according to its original design.

The original design for the Z/28 used the smallest V8 available, it was a high revving small 302 CI 5L engine. Not a 427. If they ever bring out a new Z/28, I bet it will use the new Corvette 5.5L engine.

Exactly....The COPO used the 427ci in 1969.... Z/28 used a 302ci

The LS7 is a high revving SB. The limit on CI was due to the Trans Am series and nothing else. As a matter of fact the Z28 in 1970 had a 350 CI engine due to a TA rule change.

Doesn't matter it's still a 427, even if there is no such thing as big block or small block designations still too many Cubic Inches there in my book plus its a complete different block than the LS3. Not the idea behind the original Z/28.
The change to the 350 was also when the Z/28 started a downhill slide performance wise.
