Painted splitter question

If you purchased your splitter painted from RPI are you experiencing paint chips? My splitter is chipping already and I have only driven the car around 300 miles since my install as you can see I posted pictures on 5-4. RPI is telling me how to install 3M protective tape. As a customer this answer given to me is unacceptable and as a vendor if you feel this way you should installed the protective tape before shipping.

It's a front lip splitter... You can be sure it's going to get chipped.

Don't get me wrong, I understand its frustrating. But it is paint on plastic and can only be so good. I would try the 3M clear. It would be cheaper than having it repainted because of the chips.

Common on the splitter. Touch up/repaint, and then clear bra (or similar product).

If you drive on roads that have any small rocks laying around you will get chips....above was from red lava rocks they put down on the roads for ice.

Thank you RPIDon for your help regarding the issues I experienced with the paint on the splitter. You most certainly are going to be an asset to the company.

I have the same splitter, but bought it unpainted and had my body shop paint it locally. I've only had it on for about 10 days, maybe 400 miles or so (including 120 or so on I-95 doing 80mph). But as of now, it looks great, no chips or anything.

As others have said, it does depend on the actual road you're on...it only takes a split second to have a rock fly up and hit it. Also, since it hangs so low, it's naturally going to take a bit of a beating.

Hopefully RPI will take care of you though. It looks great, btw!

Everything was handled professionally with RPI Don. Don contacted me today with good news. Don will no doubt be an asset to RPI. He did not make any promises during our conversation yesterday but said he would speak to Josh about my problem and get back to me which he did today.

Don and Josh made me a happy RPI customer today.

Thank you for the complement.
