Cool Rear Suspension

Hi members I have a 67 camaro coupe which I have restored over 4 years and I am trying to sort out the rear end suspension as you know they come out with a single leaf spring and shocker arrangement what I have been told is that to help get more traction on the road I can go to a mutli leaf spring but down here in Australia I cannot find anyone that will do a mutlti leaf spring and they wont add onto the existing sinlge leaf can anyone give me some ideas on what to do
Also I dont want to run traction bars they look YUK

i'm not sure how hard mail order parts are for you to get, but you could just order the multi-leaf spring from classic industries. it's pretty straightforward to install.

in '67, i think that both of your rear shocks were mounted behind the axle, causing wheel hop under acceleration. by 69 (maybe 68) GM cured that by mounting one shock in front of the axle. the same place that you buy your springs from should have the parts to fix that problem also.

all of these parts are very easy to install.

my 68 has stagered shocks, you will also have to change the perches for the springs on the axle housing. The multi's are deeper to hold the extra leafs. You can get a complete convertion kit from most spring suppliers that comes with evertying your need to swap out to multi. If your looking to upgrade you can stay mono and look at http://www.calvertracing.com/
and look at there split mono setup, those with a set of there caltrac's and your off to the races. This is the direction im going with mine this year.
