Anyone got a diy for v6 auto trans fluid drain and fill?

She’s nearing 100,000 miles. Should I just do a drain and fill? New filter? Or a full trans fluid flush? Or just take it in to a shop? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated

Drop pan and change filter and refill, do not under any circumstances take it to a place to flush it.

You'll probably find all you need in the "DIY" section.

Why not do a flush ? You seem very adamant about this. Just wondering.

I had a flush done when I bought mine used with 50k miles. My mechanic said wait for filter change till 100k. Prolly didn't need to do it but wanted to start fresh with all new fluids. No issues at all nearly 10k miles later. Not sure why someone would advise against it. 100k miles is the service interval if I'm not mistaken.

When you flush that machine cant get the material from the pan or the magnet and it agitates that materials backbthru ur trans and causing damages and father damages if ur trans was acting up. I am a auto/diesel technician and you have been warned

On a low mileage trans it isnt so bad but if you bought it used and we dont know how the last person beat on it even a v6 i would strongly advise against it. I wouldn't wont the materials at the bottom of my pan floating back through them sensors and valve body to get clogged

Makes sense. I bought from original, mature female owner. She had impeccable service records so hopefully I dodged a bullet with getting a gently used car.
They used the machine to refill my trans. Would that backflush the system thus clearing any potential blockage/debris?
