No, but someone here was begging for a 13.00 run. I guess this covers it.

They also went 14.29 at 100.xx mph in the V6. I'm not crazy about the times but more excited with the trap speeds, thats were the real potential is.

14.3 in a base model is pretty good, especially with a weight of 3750 lbs. Still faster than the base mustang and challenger

I'm really digging those trap speeds by both cars. I think w/ some drg radials and tuning out torque management and some basic suspenions up grades your looking at mid 12's in the SS and 13's for the v6 on the avg.

Did they do this on the track or with a gtech meter, iphone app?

EDIT: Here is what the article says about their testing. I'd still like to see if anyone can break into the 12s using track timing equipment.

Quote:
We know you guys will want the quarter-mile figures first so here they are: The LS3-powered coupe with manual 6-speed gearbox did the quarter in 12.95 seconds at 112.92 mph. Naturally, we didn't have an actual drag strip at our disposal, so these numbers were obtained with a VBox GPS-based data-acquisition unit with 12 inches of rollout programmed into the software to simulate the staging zone on a real strip. (A drag strips's timing system gives a car about a one-foot head start. Without the rollout the e.t. is 13.24 seconds.) Best results were obtained with the electronic traction control shut off via the handy switch in the center of the dash. While the ice-cold and totally unprepared pavement provided precious little traction, dialing up some wheel speed with the throttle produced a satisfactory launch - and plenty of satisfying tire smoke, too. The 0-60 mph and 0-80 mph times were 4.70 and 7.15 seconds, respectively.

Bah, this doesn't count. I'd like to see REAL 13.0 track times on a base model. GPS FTL.

That's engourageing and pretty much the same way the other mags calculated 1/4 mile times and trap speeds...

Meh, it's better than a poke in the eye.

I'm sure we'll see a real 12 sec run.

I agree, 14.3 is stock lt1 territory, for a base v6 thats pretty crazy.
