They would have replaced the battery under warranty if it was defective. The tune couldn't be blamed if the battery had a bad cell. That didn't prove to be the case, though.

How close are those headers to the starter, maybe too much heat. Just a thought check the amp pull on the starter

I don't see them replacing a 13 month old battery for free under warranty.

I have had it done with a 2 year old Jeep Wrangler. It took them less than an hour to determine the battery had a bad cell, pull it out and replace it. I would expect no less from GM. Only thing is, after running a number of tests for about an hour, there was nothing wrong with my battery.

I too have a 2012 SS. Mine cranks a lil slower now too, but i'm not worried about it.
