Look at posts 8 and 11. He did take it to the dealer to get checked.

But it's not under warranty. He has to have a tune. He has a cam and headers. I'd change the oil back to some reasonable weight. That's way to heavy.

They would have replaced the battery under warranty if it was defective. The tune couldn't be blamed if the battery had a bad cell. That didn't prove to be the case, though.

How close are those headers to the starter, maybe too much heat. Just a thought check the amp pull on the starter

I don't see them replacing a 13 month old battery for free under warranty.

I see them replacing any bad battery within the 3 year 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty, that's part of it.

Sometimes they go bad early, but they usually last at least 4 years.

The car is 13 months old and I drive it every day or two. It was in an attached garage that was about 50 degrees this morning. Could the battery be bad that quickly? Or is it the 15-50 Mobil 1 that they put in it last summer when it was 110 here. I have no idea how much thicker that oil would be at 50 degrees compared to the 5W-30.
That has happened to me about 5x with my current Camaro. So you aren't the only one...at first I assumed it was bad gas but then it happened again and again. I never took it to the dealership though.

I have had it done with a 2 year old Jeep Wrangler. It took them less than an hour to determine the battery had a bad cell, pull it out and replace it. I would expect no less from GM. Only thing is, after running a number of tests for about an hour, there was nothing wrong with my battery.
