$6 and 30 min later (bowtie blackout)

Quick post before lunch. Got a 24" sheet of matte black vinyl on Ebay for $6. I thought those that were selling the pre-cut ones were highway robbery. Came out pretty damn good and I still have enough left over to do another 6 sets in case something happens to first ones. It seems like pretty high quality vinyl, so I don't expect to have any problems.

Basically cut out a rectangle a little bigger than the perimeter of the bowties. Stick them on using a credit card to prevent bubbles. The crease will create the outline on its own and all you have to do if follow a razor blade along the edge. Definitely worth doing on your own. Took some quick pictures with the cell phone camera.

how did you deal with the pucker that the vinyl makes on the center crease?

I used a blowdrier on mine but there is still a small (barely noticable) pucker there.

can anybody tell me where I can get this done for a decent price? You can tell me what to order, but I would never be able to cut it and apply it myself, and i'm skeptical about putting vinyl on the exterior of the car. Wouldn't this eventually peel off? I wish there was a way that I could just take it in and pay $30 or something to get it put on and sealed...

it is a wrinkle that was caused by the curvature of the bowtie

You don't even have to pre-cut it. Just cut a rectangle, put it on, and follow the ridge along the edge with a blade. It was much easier than I expected. Even if it does peel off years down the road, I have enough excess to last me at least 5 more sets. Better doing that than paying $30-$40 every time. Try to find someone in your area that would be comfortable doing it and give'm a beer.
