Thats a b15, there is also LSX only block, LSX based motors, LSX b8 LSX 454, etc.
For the money, I think you can do a MUCH MUCH MUCH better motor.

I'm a huge noob to this, do you have any links I can follow or know anything off the top of your head?
You have a 1,200 rwhp z06 so I'd figure you know a thing or two lol |

What specifically? Just keep reading. What motor to replace or how to rebuild a LS3 all depends on your goals for it. If it is <1000rwhp, or to stay NA, I would just run an aluminum block. Iron blocks weigh 120+lbs more, and do not cool as well.

Just depends on goals and how much of a gambler you are.
Power wise NA. Just stroke the ls3 to 418. Boom 550na HP all day long. Boost. Same thing 800 HP all day. The appeal of the LSX is out of the box ready and GM fixing anything for 2 years. They mail you the b15 and say push 1000hp we f****** dare you. |

Honestly I'm only 24 and have a limited budget in terms of huge builds.
I'd love to stay N/A because boost is something out of my budget. Not even sure if I should just upgrade to a ZL1 altogether lol |

If you can afford a ZL1, then by all means go for it. It has a lot of upgraded parts in the driveline that would cost you thousands in upgrades alone. Those things are cheap to mod and make silly power when modded. Pulley, tune, high flow CAI and full exhaust will make it a beast of a different order.

Doesn't the LT4 cook its oil when it's driven hard over a long period of time?
Personally I'd go LSA. Tough motors, between the V community and ZL1 community those motors have stood up to a bunch of abuse
