You think the Camaro is ugly? I agree however, the Z28 is going to have to look less cluttered in the fascia than the ZL1. I sculpted that fascia by hand, made the lower lip that resembled the 2nd Gens front air dam. This design was based off of the original 2006 Camaro, that is why it looks more rounded and flowing than the blocked off production version. I also shaved a lot of mass from the cars rear and sides, making it appear smaller...
I love the how the Mustang looks, its not totally a muscle car as it has a lot of "sport" in it... something I think a Z28 needs.. to look like an athlete, not a body builder. To look like a fighter plane instead of an Sherman tank... The Camaro is becoming more and more square, the ZL1 looks like a bulldozer, they need to keep the panels closer to the structure and perhaps lose some weight in the process. Besides, why build a Z28 to compete with the Boss 302? This is the Boss 302's last year. Maybe there could be a replacement just as there has been in the past (Mustang GT-R, FR500).. who knows... Maybe replace it with a class name they compete in, GT, GS, GTS, GTR, GT3, GT4, GT5... Need something non-retro because in 2 years, Ford is going to turn the word "retro" into a bad word. Give it the ZL-1 suspension and a LS7. That would be a rocking Z28.

ZL1 suspension not SCCA legal. a Z28 should be able to compete (minus some safety things) in SCCA races.

I figure many people will have sticker shock when they see the price of the ZL1.The people with the cash will scoop up all 2012 production of ZL1s.Then bring out the Z28 in 2013. |

SCCA legality? Make a Pedderized FE4 a Standard Feature...make MR optional...
MY '13 intro will leave approx. 3 years' worth of production...worthy of the efforts. LS7 availability in a carefully optioned/priced ZEE, available for 3 Model Years, would support Wixom's continuation, all by itself! Remember, Wixom's total planned output, calendar year '11, is less than 5,000 units (dry LS3/LS7/LS9), with a feasible output at (achieved)/beyond (hoped for) 10,000... |

I'm sorry, but I can't help but laugh at some of these statements..
Since when did a Z28 ever cost more than an SS? I can't remember it ever happening, as the Z28 was generally lighter, and less powerful. So now, you want to make it more powerful than an SS and a better overall car...and more expensive... Just can't help but laugh at that..

Compared to the original 2006 concept and the 2010 production car, I love the Z28 concept.

I'm pretty sure he isn't referring to market value per se. I think he's more referring to MSRP. The SS model has typically always had a higher MSRP than the Z/28. At least the 4th gens were that way. But I'm not real sure about previous gens. But I "believe" that the original 67-69's were priced that way.

Which is why I see these comments talking about a 45k Z28 as hilarious. The truth in MY opinion is that GM would be better served just waiting until the 6th gen car. Better power to weight ratio, would give them the chance to perfect the things that the customers REALLY want... And for the record, just so you don't get it all bent out of shape, I love the Z cars...and would buy one if one was out...
