Z28 1 OF 2
Hello all I am new to the forum. I have recently purchased a 2014 Z28 Camaro. I did a little research after buying the car and I found it to be 1 of 2 made and maybe some of you can verify that for me. According to what I found the car is 1 of 9 silver produced that year and of the 9 only 2 came with a full radio and AC. In addition it was a CTF (chevy test fleet) vehicle. I know this based on the VIN and history of the car from decoding it. Last 7 are 9699008 and it is #008 off the assembly line. Now I know Chevrolet took two silver cars and used them as test cars all over the world and this Camaro has just over 10,000 miles on it with never being titled except to read corporate. I would live to know for sure if this is the Camaro I have seen on the track courses posted on you tube and if so does this increase the value of the car?

Did you buy it from a dealer? Did they have any information on where it came from?

Congratulations. I also cannot confirm your questions, but there is another CTF car listed for sale and there is some general info about CTF cars in the thread.

Your car is 1 of 29 Total Silver Z/28s for 2014. 1 of 14 CTF cars built. 1 of 9 CTF with A/C and radio. Not sure if you know, but the Z/28 had one option, a/c and stereo system. There is not further break down. It is either with air/speakers or without air/speakers. Where did you get the 1 of 2? Would really be splitting hairs by whether or not it was ordered with floor mats or tire inflation kit. Both of those can be purchased separately and are not Z/28 specific. |

Ya the general consensus usually, if not always, is don't worry too much about it being a collectable, just drive it and have fun. What's gonna happen anyway is you are going to lose probably $30k on it in the next 5-10 years and it will take another 20-30 years for it to go back up $30k,... and that's assuming you haven't put a single mile on it,... and there still will be some other poor soul that has one for sale with only 100 miles on the odometer...
Anyway congrats and enjoy it now. As Anthony Bourdain said the other night "Life Is Uncertain . . . Eat Dessert First!" |

I'd be willing to bet that that is the highest mileage Z/28 in existance, so in that regard, it is 1 of 1!
Since there are quite a few who bought a Z/28 with the thought of it being a future collectible or as strictly a "toy," there will always be an ultra low mileage one to buy. With over 10k miles on yours already, don't count on it being among the ones collectors might be eyeing in the future. And BTW, not to take anything away from your car, but none of the CFT cars are considered to be "production" versions and thus aren't # anything "off the line." In other words, the 1st production 2014 Z/28 that sold for $650k (proceeds for charity) to Rick Hendrick was VIN 9700001. You shouldn't hesitate to add more miles and enjoy the car as you should, however!
