I met up with the Music City Camaro Club yesterday at Music City Raceway. Didn't get to finish racing. I believe I broke the transmission output shaft. Had to get towed off the track. The good news though is I brought home a couple of trophies. First place for People's Choice and second place for Best Modified.

So as I was unbolting the driveshaft, I noticed it was spinning even with my emergency brake on. I looked more closely at the axles and noticed one of the CV boots had a twist in it. It never crossed my mind that one of my Gforce1320 axles would have broken, but it did.


I called Gforce and they were as shocked as I was. If anyone can get a defective part, it will be me. I sent my axles in to them for inspection. They replaced them with their newest design level 5. The first thing I noticed is the improved design on the bracket that holds the axle stubs in the rear housing. The black bracket is the old design.



I also went ahead with my plans to upgrade the trans. I ordered a Tick Performance level 3. I haven't beat on it yet, but so far it's much smoother than the stock trans.




The boot on my Dynotech driveshaft had melted some. I'm thinking it was probably from where the cat was stopped up and got so hot. I ordered a boot kit from them and replaced it myself.





While everything was apart, I sent the center section back to Strange for inspection since it was whining quite a bit on decel. They replaced a few parts, but it still makes some noise. Not near as bad as it was, but it's not perfect.

I also sold my stock widened wheels and picked up some ZL style wheels from Factory Reproductions. They are 20x10 fronts and 20x11 rears.

Swapped from the Nick Williams throttle body to a TPIS unit since the NW102 had an issue with slamming shut at the track.




Also plastidipped the chrome Camaro letters on the fenders.





Originally mounted a Raptor shift light inside the AC vent, but I didn't like it there. Too hard to see, so I moved it up on the dash. It's a dual mode, so I can set a launch rpm and shift rpm.



After the throttle body and 3 bar map sensor swap, the car needed to be retuned, so I dropped it off at ShorTuning. His Dyno is very stingy and it dynoed about 100 rwhp down from my previous run on a Dynojet. He says that's normal for his. I hope he's right and there's not an issue with the engine.




I'm picking the car up Thursday on our way to CamaroFest in Indy. It needs to be cleaned up and a few things done before racing, but I guess I'll just have to do it there.

Here's the slip from my best run in Indy. It was almost my slowest mph, but it was my best 60'. I'm in the left lane.



Unfortunately, this was my last run. As I was slowing down, I got locked out of the gears and then noticed my clutch pedal lost pressure. I'm not losing fluid, but my guess is there's an issue with the slave. I just replaced it when I put the trans in. Everything was working great all weekend until this. Horrible timing too, because my class, which was unlimited mods, was down to just me and two others. I had to forfeit which automatically gave them first and second place. Both of them received trophies. Third place loser received nothing. :( Very bummed that I made it that far and couldn't finish.

Sorry to hear that. looks like you were on a roll. BTW, how do you like the Tick trans. I'm thinking of having rework mine and swap out 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th to the same gears as the 1LE.

So far, it's been great. Very smooth. Only issue I've noticed is first gear seems to have an extra click to make sure it's all the way in gear.

I installed Afterburner tail lights from SJM Auto Prod. It was a messy pain in the ass job, but I love them. The pics I have don't due them justice. It's the best I could do with my iPhone. I also did some Plasti Dip while the lights were out. Can't drive the car right now. I have the trans out and waiting for a replacement clutch.

Music City Camaro Club hosted their Fall Brawl at Music City Raceway this past Saturday. I took home three trophies. Best Extreme/Modified Camaro, Best Drag Camaro, and I took first place in the bracket racing against the other Camaro's.





My best time of the night was 7.028 @ 105.11 with a 1.7047 60'. I actually broke out, but was able to buy back in on that round.
