The Nannies on the Camaro SS's

I always turn mine off when I go out to drive my Camaro but sometimes I forget and then I will stop somewhere and turn them off again, is it me or do the Camaro's seem to run better with them turned off completely or is that just a placebo effect?...I do the 8 second method of turning them off.

I thought I was the only one that thought it felt better with them off. Placebo or not, I still do it 90% of the time.

Yep, for some reason it seems to me that they run better with them off but I am probably just having wishful thinking

I'd say it's placebo effect -

If you're looking to throw the rear end around a little bit rip the tires loose a few times I'd still recommend tapping the button twice which puts the car in competitive driving mode.. that way the traction control is completely off and stabilitrak is much less sensitive - but you do still have a little help if you get yourself in trouble...

I hate competition mode. Its basically just for launch control. It doesn't let all power break loose. I usually just tap it once to turn off tc even though I occasionally do the 8sec trick and let the fun begin

Sorry for the newbie question..., but I have to ask. If you push that button twice it looks like traction control and stabilitrac are both off. Is that true or not? And is holding the button down for 8 seconds doing anything different?

pushing it twice makes both less sensitive but does not completely turn them off. holding the button down until both lights are on turns them off completely
