i haven't seen the instructions, but it looks like what's holding it by the wheel wells is just a flat-head screw. i can deal with a hole there if it means i'm not destroying my splitter every time i take the car out. i'm gonna get under the car here in a little while to install the skipshift eliminator and see about removing the splitter

There are a bunch of rivets along the bottom edge as well as 3m tape.

I saw them do mine, yes there are some brackets, if you will, that are riveted on,then the splitter bolts to the car and attaches to the brackets.

Hmm yeah I wasn't prepared for rivet removal today. Might have to practice some different angles of attacking the driveway in the meantime.
Tried to plasti the slot again. Wasn't happy with the results so I peeled it. Might just go ahead and vinyl instead.
Just got the eliminator installed. They weren't joking about having to do it blind...yeesh.

Did you disconnect the power to add the eliminator?

Here is my vinyl hood. Washed this last week, added VRT which looked wet and streaky then it rained within hours. Car has been outside in rain and sun forna week while I was in Tahoe with family. Rain water dried on it. Doesn't look bad. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357008212.994483.jpg

No need to disconnect power. I actually removed mine before car went back for repairs. Didn't want any reason to blame the mod for shifter failure. Btw, they told me today, that the shifter pin came out, and a new one will be there on Thursday. Sounds pretty lame that it was not secured well at the factory. Anyway, that's what warrantys are for right?

True enough. Shifter pin, huh...well, Thursday isn't bad for having a holiday between now and then. Still sucks that it happened at all tho

Ozzy what part of your spitter is hitting left/right/center ?
We have a similar problem but there is a solution to protect it from damage ,you will still bottom out but the rub strip instead of the splitter.

The one in the pic is 3/16" aluminum but it could also be done in lexan/plexiglass lowes/home depot.is easy to fab.
Or make a pattern and take to an HVAC shop with sheet metal skills.
That just happens to be what we do but your a little out of our service area.
