Of course, if watching the Z/28.R circle a track isn’t exciting enough, you can always gather up $75,000 and buy a regular Z/28 of your own.

It's will be a great weekend for Chevrolet

On a side note; the comments on that webpage are so unbelievably ridiculous and foolish. Are people just sooooo unhappy with life that all they can do is be disrespectful. They find NO joy in something so well done? Supposed car guys hating on cars. It makes you want to hate people. End of rant, sorry.
I'm with you 100%, feel the same way. A sad state of affairs, here on this forum as well. Haters and whiny no-nothings. Some people must have a pretty f'ed up life to be driven to troll car forums and stir sh*t instead of offering any constructive or positive contributions.

Amen!

I'm thrilled to see Chevy turn such a corner (after near death). Developing street cars with race cars, can you say Ferrari?! It's also impressive that Chevy has pulled guys like yourself from Porsches and such.

Z/28 R (REAL ONE)

You see, the factory production one is for track days. In order to qualify in sanctioned events, here is what they say:

“Apart from series-mandated equipment and the specialized suspension components needed for endurance racing, the Z/28.R is as close to a production-spec race car as you’ll find,” said Kent.

Well, my friends, what you have is a modded Z/28 outfitted to meet qualifications, which the factory version does not. No big deal. They have to refine the production version to gain entry. You can still buy the standard street version, but you won't be seeing the Z/28R on the street. What specifically is the track mandated equipment? Cost? Why not on the production version so GM could say they produced it to qualify just like in 1967?

This particular Z/28R won't be available for individuals to buy, so it's just a race team car. Filling in where the factory left off. But it sure is good to see the LS7 kicking some butt! Will be fun to watch. Just not sure how it translates to Joe Plumber.

Its good to see an outside team take the Z/28 to it's intended zone. If only Pete could have gotten it! Wouldn't that be cool? Lets get rid of the Haters and Whiney no-nothings? Dunno if name calling moves your case forward. At any rate, glad the "team" was able to get this modded to qualify in a great series. True die hards will love this race team car.
