Very well put, would all depend on what you need the car for, DD with kids, or a car that is just for the weekend and short trips.

So what is the difference in marketing the R/T Shatpack vs the abruptly discontinued sales flops that were the "SRT Bore" models? They were both around $40k no? Is it the automatic tranny and 15hp that will finally make it a sales success? Furthermore will R/T Shatpack and Hellokitty cannibalize the SRT sales? Seems like all the "would-be" buyers, including yourself, are leaning toward the R/T now (fully realizing the odds of affording a Hellokitty in the next 12 months is beyond the means of 99.999% of the Mopar faithful, bless their hearts).

I think Dodge listened to the guys that were buying their cars, people were asking for the option on the RT to get the 6.4L.
The 6.4L RT is a bit cheaper than the Core (going by comments made by US customers) as the core was no sold in Canada. Just like back in the 70`s more engine options what is to hate. |

looks like MEDISIN's hate tank is on fumes...hes down to ad hominems at this point.
I'm perfectly ok with Dodge building niche cars for hot rodders...let GM build more V6 Camaros for everyone else. |

I'm now kicking around the idea of a RT 392 Scat Pack manual which someone here said was $37,xxx msrp so knowing how heavily Dodge can discount its vehicles it may be possible to get into a 392 Challenger for $34,xxx.
$35k'ish would be kick ass especially after listening to the vid of Richard Rawlings showing off its "factory dumps" sure it wont be as quick as the 8 speed auto but I will have more fun with the exhaust barking, popping and blurbling every time I shift and can go WOT more often without the risk of speeding. Plus there would be less chance of me getting bored with it especially when taking it to the track. With a (485hp)manual you can always improve on something vs mashing the gas and keeping in straight. I do want to wait and see how the lighter weight 'cuda turns out.

I believe the difference between the 392 Rt and the SRT8 is the SRT8 gets a version of the Hellcats braking system, the electronic adjustable suspension, a much much better audio system as well as a much more refined and upscale interior.
In many ways the 392 R/T "Scat Pack" get most of the old SRT 8 technology. The new SRT gets a lot of the Hellcat technology |

Essentially what Dodge has done is exactly what we Camaro owners have wanted since 2009, an ls7 option. Except in this case Dodge/ Ma Mopar are not engaging in self destructive and retarded nameplate protection.

No plans on a Cuda or lighter Challenger till 2018 as far as I know, but if you wait until the hype as had a chance to die you may get a better price. They do discount more than Ford or Chevy has in the past.
