screw!..slush boxes!..in MY view, after drivin' stick all my driving life,an "auto" is just something else to go wrong!..can't go wrong with a "direct drive" tranny connected to the tunnel!..basically,don't "ride" the clutch, and it will last virtually forever!..very little maintenance, just check the fluid level every 50,000 miles or so!..just sayin'! |

I sit in an hour of traffic every night and I have a manual. Yeah its annoying in traffic, but on the open roads...

I am the driver, and my imput is important. I have only had 2 autos in 28 years, and hated them (Jeep grand cherokee+Mustang GT). There's nothing worse than enjoying a nice twisty road, and the damn car decides to change up just as you would want to accelerate out of the bend. |

For me, there are certain vehicles that are automatic only and some that are manual only and even if I were to get an extra $10,000 off I wouldn't have considered an automatic. But, that is why they make an automatic and a six speed. To each his own!

glad u all are likeing your manuels,,. i like my auto. i just dont understand the i can shift quicker than most deal,. i dont care who u are,, all things being equal, the auto will win the race everytime. nobody can outshift an auto tranny. if you like to shift get the stick, if you dont get the auto. i,ve been shifting all my life. love the auto. to each his own.

Flame me if you want. If a car turns my head (be it a 60's muscle car, hot rod, exotic/ supercar - modern muscle - I like them all) and then I look inside and see an auto tranny - it is a instant turn off for me. Call me a manual tranny snob if you want but that perfect 2-3 shift I hit yesterday says it all for me !!
By the way all my pedestrian/tansportation vehicles are autos and always will be. But the fun car has to have a stick. |

haven't drove an manuel in many moons and can't say I miss it, and if the wild urge hits me I can always use tap shift so in my book I have the best of both worlds!!
