Well I have a Z 06 with the LS 6 so the drive train is not all that different and the car is treated like a daily driver. But a daily driver that loves the snot beat out of it. Currently at 92k miles and other than usual wear items the drive train is rock solid. Still has the original clutch with zero slipping.

I have a '97 Z28 with 119k on it. Still has original plugs in it. Change the oil regularly and don't beat the piss out of it and it should go for 100k+. That being said what some call normal maintenance others would call big ticket items. You could lose the water pump, alternator, air cond comp. etc by 100k. they all can be a little spendy if done at a dealer.

Well i have had two TA's now which in all are identical to the camaro mechanically. I think a V8 and the way people drive them you are probably looking at 100-150 k till you will start having to replace major compents. Manual transmission you will have to rebuild the clutch at least by 100k. I would say the motor by 150k. But If you think about it people probably only average 2-5k mi a year on a sports cars so to get to 100k will take a long time. So you could have a car thats 20 years old with 80k. Just being that old your seals will wear away etc. So all in all I would say at 20 years or 100k you would start looking at replacing items. One positive is if something breaks before 100 and your under 5 years its under warranty. but after 50k you can start looking at normal things like alternators, radiators, front ends etc going out

Should last at least 200,000 with the RPM's at 1,850 @ 70 miles per hour.

This is a new model car so there will be problems- Its a machine with thousands of components. Some owners are already reporting problems and its obvious many Camaros were/are being held up before delivery for quality issues. hopefully it will not be a repeat of the '68 Corvette when it came out.

I got about 130K on my 94 Z28 before the engine block cracked.
I got about 140K on my 01 TA WS-6 before the auto transmission fell out. |

Zebra is right on, but we get the "equivalent" of, not actual odo mileage..............GM runs accelerated testing in the lab and at the Proving Grounds. None of our test or CTF cars get that many odo miles. But by running specially engineered test schedules, we can get the equivalent of 100,000 miles in just a few months.
In the lab, we run the equivalent of some road tests for multiple lives. So again, you get the equivalent of 100's of thousands of miles, but not on the odo. It will all depend on how well you maintain the car. Follow the maintanence schedule, keep it clean from salt and dirt and you should see well into the 100's if not more. I believe the average car is 17 years old in the U.S. now. So you have age and you have miles to consider.

Have 108000 miles on 98 Camaro SS
The only major components that were changed were the a/c pump, radiator & water pump. Minor things like battery, tune up, fluid changes, tires etc. Car still runs & looks great.

I had a '93 Camaro with around 180,000 miles on it (this was 5 years ago) only issue it had was the gas gauge was inaccurate, and I had to replace the alternator.... but that was probably more due to the two 12 inch subs i had than the actual car

I've got a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with 165,000 miles on it and it still looks new and runs perfect. It's all in how you take care of your car whether cosmetically or mechanically. If you treat your car well, it will treat you well. If you run it into the ground and don't do crap to it, it will fall apart. I don't care if it's a Honda, Toyota, or GM.
I've never bought into that American car's aren't built as well as others crap. |

I think an easy 100,000 miles without major issues. My '95 LT1 made it to almost 100K with a water pump/distributor being the biggest issues. I went through a lot of clutches, but that was from burnouts and a lot of powershifting at the track. My '02 made it through 40K with nothing. Medium-sized stall for the last 20K miles, and a lot of track time too. I think unless you are really abusive, and stay on top of regular service, you should be okay.
