Do I even need to post a reply....lol. My ZL1 has about broke me since I bought it, and I don't think I've ever gone 3 days without catching up on the forum. I have learned a lot and met a lot of really nice guys since I got my ZL1. It really is an obsession.

So I bought Nickey #31 (M6), in 2010. I had no desire to race it, just drive it and punch it every time I had the urge.

I then joined this forum. I read about cars running mid 12s and I was certain my car would be in the 11s. So off to the track I went and ran a 12.49. In pursuit of 11s, my addiction to this forum and the car began. I get in the 11’s and then the ZL1 came out with tuners already in the 10’s. So I bought Nickey ZL1 #001.

My very first pass was 11 sec flat and I know I spun at launch and could do better, but I was kicked off the track for going too fast without harness and roll bar. I didn’t want to “ruin” the car, so I left drag racing to pursue road racing, autocross, and open road racing. Dang it, if you want to go 200 MPH, you have to have a cage, fire system, etc. So back to the forums and the shop for more mods.

Are you obsessed with your car? Are you addicted to reading this forum? Over the past 18 months, I have bought 4 other cars and I rarely go to the forums for those cars and I have done very few mods. There is just something about this car that makes owners obsessed.
Are you offering a 12 step program?

LS sold me on the SS. SS sold me on the ZL. Never imagined in my wildest dreams I would buy a ZL.

Now that's just darn funny.
Step 1: Disable internet
Step 2: Buy a Focus

Buying a Ford Focus has got to be like having a little wee; its OK at home, but no good on the road.

Yep. Our track follows the rules as they interpret them. There are several posts here that argue the rule. Regardless, my local track interprets the rule, "any modded car faster than 11.49 shall have a roll bar and seat harness". A CAI could be considered modded. I was bummed at the time, but very happy now, as it got me to reach out to different racing and I will say, road racing is a lot of fun.

I started my forum obsession with Vettes. I had a C6 which I traded in for the ZL1, and have a 1969 L46 - plan is never to part with her!

Since the ZL1, I've transferred my forum obsession over from the C6 forums.corvetteforum.com to this forum. I was used to SO much activity on the vette forums, I wish there was a little more going on here. But I do now come here every day to check out what's going on, and peek at the ZL1 parts forum as well.

Obsession with the car. Nawwww. In one month only drove 2000 miles, and only put on one coat of polish, 4 coats of sealant, and a mere one coat of wax. Naw, no obsession there...
