be glad you weren't doing +1mph, 30 over is mandatory court appearance in FL.

IMO if you did the crime, pay the fine. maybe take a drivers class to knock the points off your record

well just wait, they will send you the bail amount in the mail or if you do not get anything in the mail by two or three weeks go to the court find out how much it will be and then ask to take traffic school. only works if you plea guilty.

you might have to see a judge but all states are different, so if you do have to see the judge just admit your mistake and ask for traffic school

you have 30 days to pick an option or they WILL suspend your licence.. unfortunately i know from experience .. the two best options are take the class and pay the ticket or take it to court. it used to be if the cop didnt show the ticket was thrown out and you have a 50 50 chance of him not showing. if he does show well your busted and points go on the licence and you pay the fine .but im not sure if thats still the case.

oh and yes they will send you something in the mail but they sent it to me 31 days later telling me i no longer have a licence.. florida law sucksss i have yet to meet a cool/nice cop in the entire state

hope this helps lol

The officer should have told you your options, and told you what you can do. He probably did, but it being your first ticket you were probably to nervous to really hear everything he was saying.

There should be a number on the ticket you can call, if not, call the Clerk of Court in your county (google can help you find that).

If you JUST got the ticket, you should be getting lots of postcards and crap from traffic schools within a few days. You can call the Clerk of Court, tell them you want to elect the traffic school option (if that is eligible for you, should be, the Clerk of Court will let you know). You pay a fine (which is usually more than the ticket...), sign up for traffic school, pay for that, get a certificate which you then take back to the Clerk of Court...and you get no points assessed on your record. Can do it once every year, up to 5 times in 10 years. This is for Florida, by the way.

With it being a 29mph over ticket, things may be different. You may not be allowed to take the class to get rid of the points, I'm not sure. As I said above, check your ticket and/or call them Clerk of Court, and they will be able to give you all your options.

I just got done doing this process yet again (clocked at 53 in what I thought was a 45...was a 35. Cop knocked it down to 9 over, yay for me). First ticket in about 3 or 4 years, but I had a very lead foot when I was younger...

Hire an attorney to fight it.. They normally cost you $50 or $100 and guarantee they will get it dismissed. I have done it several times.. They schedule, re-schedule your court appearance and then it gets dismissed.. Check your local internet for traffic attorneys/lawyers.. It is better then having it on your record and insurance premiums go up..

just hired ticket clinic 6 weeks ago for 2 seperate tickets..1 was totally dismissed and other i had to pay fine , no points...careless driving , and running stop.......they will only guarantee if you had no tickets within past 1-3 years..can,t remember exact , but at least 1 year ticket free..already did school recent so that was not an option

Got a ticket in Largo a couple weeks ago going 63 in what was a 55, but the limit had dropped to 45 (and I never saw a sign; I'm sure I just missed it). Cop didn't care, gave me a ticket anyway. It was my first ever speeding ticket :( I thought about taking it to court but I just bit the bullet and paid the fine and am going to take the class to avoid the points on my license.

pay the fine and take the driving course keep the points off and keep your ins from going up. There may even be an online course you can take.
