I had my car tuned by EFI Performance LLC on Tomlynn St.[804-358-2505]. Cost was $475. It's the first time I ever had a car tuned,so I'm not any kind of expert, but it seems ok to me. Good luck.

A custom dyno tune is tons better than a handheld as long as you take it to a good tuner.

My car gets tuned by sending Ted logs and then he returns the updates via email which I load into my HANDHELD. My car is as dialed in as it gets without a dyno tune. A little bit of effort on the car owners part will go a long way. A dyno is good but its not the be all end all.

If your car is stock or has minimal mods that do not require a custom tune, then you are fine with a canned tune...especially factoring in the price. Because with a custom tune, you will still have to purchase a handheld tuner. Some shops offer a discounted price with free upgrades for a certain amount of time. That may be the route to go. Or maybe try to find a package deal (CAI, headers, tune) and see how much you can save.

I offer remote tuning, which gives you a device you can store multiple tunes on AND tune up to 8 vehicles all with one device. Its good for guys because I can review logs and make adjustments as needed.

Key4 is a customer of mine that posted some results in the drag section and I just tuned 3 other guys off the forum that can attest to the quality of the calibration work. And on the auto cars, the shifts will be spot on and shift feel can be tailored to suit your taste.

For those with multidisc converters, we can setup and dial in the wot lockup etc etc.

Yes. The "no tune" version simply means you don't *need* a tune.

If you plan on future mods a tune is a good idea. I got my L99 tuned within a month of ownership (Spring/summer of 09).
Went to the track and ran 12.9 @ 108/109 mph.

The same day another L99 with a popular hand held tuner (and Rotofab intake) was running low to mid 13s @ 106 mph.

my tuner (I should keep him to myself but I'll spread the wealth)http://www.fasterproms.net/services.html

There really isn't a this or that in this situation.....
People get the handheld and that is where they store different tunes for different situations including custom tunes.....

In Richmond you are in racing country and there are speed shops all around you.....
Anywhere NASCAR is there is normally some good speed shops and Speedway is right there.....
