I'm planning on doing everything you have (except wheels) plus a ported tb, underdrive pulley, cam and dyno tune. I think you'll be in the 11's with gears once you get your tune lined out perfectly.
As I indicate earlier in the thread, I have the 3200 FTI from RX. Big advantages are that it's billet, lighter, and new.

I personally do not recommend going with a reworked stock converter (as many are). No reason not to get a new one that is lighter and stronger, cheaper and with no core charge or anything. You may get more daily driveability out of a 2800 stall, but I don't know if it would do as well as mine did - four-tenths.

Oh, and I still have my Meziere Electric Water Pump and my SLP Underdrive Pulley waiting to go in. They'll go in after I get my 11-second slip with the gears.

Are you gonna do the water pump and pulley separate? I'd like to see the gain of each. I didn't think yank was a reworked stock convertor? I was either going with one of those or a vigilante. I picked up almost a second on my third gen with a vigilante.

I was speaking in general about TCs. I don't know all the ones that are reworked or new, just what I have. But I do frequently go with the ones I have experience with, so for you, go with what you're comfortable with.

For ease, I'm doing both the pulley and EWP at the same time. Should be a pretty simple install. I just have to decide on the wiring (e.g. if I want a commanded override in the cabin).

Gotcha! I'd really like to see the difference between both but I'm imagining that each by themselves might be worth half a tenth and half a mph. Prolly pick up a tenth with both. That's my prediction.

Great thread Padre.
Quick question, has your JBA HF cats caused a code?

Yes, but that was due to a leak at the collector. The fitment to the OEM manifold is not great. I retightened it and it went away (lean code). The fitment now with the JBA shorties is good.

I may move up the Meziere electric water pump install a bit. We're getting summer temperatures this weekend, and if the EWP can help me keep the temps down when it's 90* out, it'll be worth every dime.

Padre, your doing your own tuning right? Have you messed with the throttle squirt? I know on my third gen if I had it too rich or lean it would result in a not so great launch. Just an idea, you may have to tweak it when advancing the timing down low.

Yes, I do my own tuning, but I'm not familiar with throttle squirt. I did find a limit to the timing down low, but the only change I made to the power enrich (commanded AFR at WOT) was a flub run. I'm going to wait till I finish the bolt-ons and get a Wideband O2 sensor before I start messing with AFR and fueling (plus the VE on Gen IV motors is virtual and a lot more complicated, and I don't know enough yet).

Here are my horsepower log for now, a rough draft. Still need to double and triple check the numbers.

All that is BHP (flywheel horsepower), of course.

I'd rather you post un corrected numbers. To me that's more accurate. It is what it is.

I agree, but corrected numbers give me an idea of the magnitude of the changes. For example, as in the other thread, I thought the Shorties gained more power than the Midpipes. But that was mainly because of weather, and corrected numbers give a better idea of what to expect, and the difference then was very interesting.

I can still do an uncorrected chart, though.
