I know I'm late to this party. But I have the JBA shorty headers and I like them for one reason and one reason only at this point like nikos. The sound! Deep mellow idle and nice under throttle with no resonators needed for rasp (and I have a cat back too.) They were a complete pain in the rear to stop the leaks if you are just looking for the most gains or bang for the buck, Rtcat and ghostly are right. But another thing to consider is if you can fool the natzi smog guys with the other mods, then I say go for it.
