Glas Brandi is all you dreamed of and more. Look forward to the videos from the Fest.

Well those and the Drag videos
Heck so far it's all the fun... I'm just blessed to have a great coach in my builder... If I thought I could manage it, I would by him a round trip airline ticket to the fest... but we have phones so if there are any questions some of you folks can't answer for me at the fest, I'll ring him up and see whats up...

Oh... I know for a fact that the nannies still work...

With the Street ET's drag radials, while headed to the track, in third gear at about 80-85 mph, I blew the tires off... smoked em a little, smacked the rev limiter... short shifted to 4th, and lunged down the ...... at a breakneck pace...Damn does she pull like a frigg'in freight train...

Even with blowing the tires off, she goes from 70 to 120+ in a nano second...

Robert...sounds like a beast. It'll definitely take some time to get used to. As a complete amatuer it was crazy for me at the track as well...and mine's an auto.

Helmet...check. 5 point harness...check. Hold stabilitrak button 7 seconds until everything goes off...check. Pull up into the water...spin the tires to get them wet...pull up 6 inches...roast the tires...roll through three gears and move forward...turn nitrous pump on...purge nitrous...pull up to the light...hang on for dear life!

I hear you... I'll get there... seat time and good coaching... my hands were shaking like a leaf for my first pass... but Brandi is so stable and predictable... I felt really comfortable, just got overly anxious on the shifts... With the N/A cars, you have to trash on en pretty hard for good times, with this F/I, like my daddy taught me with tools, let the car do the work... just enjoy the ride... I need to slow down my shifting, come off the gas just a touch more, and let the Twins do their job, they are way more than capable...

Take your time with Brandi. Get the "feel" nailed down so you can predict and react. At the Fest, just work on 60' times and clean shift points, the rest will follow. You are going to have Brandi for a long time. Take your time and get to know her well.

(I am in the same boat with the SST. The maiden drive IS from LA to C5F2. All road tuning will be on-the-fly.
)

BTW - the 130+ mph trap speed really gives you a great indicator of the potential - very nice !!
Very good advice Robert and oh so true. A lot of people DO think the problem is the car and not the driver. You are 1 up on most people right there.

Knowing where the trouble is, is a step in the right direction. Just don't get frustrated. Really, you have a brand new car again that you have to get to know intimately again like you did when you first brought her home from the lot.

You'll have her licked in no time! And I just LOVE your build page!

The idea last night was to get her down the track, see how she felt, make a couple changes if necessary and then let Robert give it a try. And with C5F coming up, I didn't want to break anything so launching it off the rev limiter wasn't in the cards. Long story short, the car is POWERFUL! No doubt once he gets back from the fest, and there's more than 300 miles on the motor, we can turn it up a notch, actually launch her off the line and see what she'll do! No doubt a mid 10 is possible in the mid 130's. But not right now. :-) You guys have fun at the fest, don't break anything, and we'll see you when you get back and the handover wears off.

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with this car... She is polite, considerate, and very well mannered... At the same time, she is ready willing and perfectly capable of trashing most anything on the track.....

I hoped to keep this thread entertaining and with the input of all Brandi's fans, I think we are succeeding... Stay tuned... Lil adjustment, staying at the house today, will post pics tomorrow....
