Throttle Lag

Does anyone else have a throttle lag on the LS3 when they down shift to say... 2nd from say.... 4th? Yesterday, and this has happened before as well, I shifted from 4th to 2nd at about 50 MPH and the engine powers up a bit then lags then takes off. Why is there a lag there? It is starting to drive me crazy! Anyone else have this issue?

LS3 = Manual..

I notice some 'lag' at times on my L99 but not always related to downshifting.

On some cars I've had before you could 'ground' the throttle body and it would improve throttle response. I have no idea WHY that worked, but it did for many people on those cars. Perhaps that could help this one as well?

What is "grounding" the throttle body? This may be a dumb question but... I dont know.

It is called TRQ Management. It is controlled by the throttle body and if the computer says to much torque going on it closes the blade.

torque management, drive by wire, and the fact that the throttle body closes during shifts.

Electrical ground. Basically a wire from the TB to a ground spot other than the engine block. I have no idea if these cars would benefit. Both my Mazda3 and Mazda6 DO benefit in throttle response from doing this. (its quite a common thing on their forums)

So what is the best way to control this? Do I just have to find the happy medium pressing the gas pedal or what?

I was thinking electrical ground but that didnt seem to make sense in my mind so I thought you may have been referring to something else. Hmmm... That is odd that doing that would change anything.

I did not notice it last year but this year I have experienced it twice when down shifting and jumping into it at about the same speeds you are talking about.

I would like to be able to get rid of that... That is for sure!

Where at in upstate NY are you? Are you truly in upstate or are you one of those people that says upstate is anything north of the city?

I have 0 experience with it, fwiw -- but I imagine some drive-by-wire systems require a source of feedback which the computer uses to modulate throttle position with systems like torque managements or traction control.

If you ground it, the feedback could go away, and now the only source of control would be your foot....frankly, I wouldn't recommend it...scary stuff, if you ask me....but again, I'm not 100% sure how grounding would work.
