The meaning of your production date ? The day they start or finish ?

Hey ,
I was just wondering if anyone knows when your production date is stamped for ??

I have heard both its from when they start and when they finish .
I would think its more likely when your camaro is finished .

Does anyone know for sure ?

Thanks

The date and time on the radiator shroud cover is stamped 4 hours before the car rolls off the assembly line, at least it is if I am remembering correctly.

Likely, there's only one day difference between start and finish anyway.
The Camaro only takes 18 hours on the assembly line from start to finish.

When I did the plant tour one of the guides told me if you custom order depending on how busy they are it can take 5 to 7 days to complete the car order from when its production order is made with the plant. Also as 67 Convertible said he told us it takes on average 18 hours to go from start to finish .

The reason I am curious is with what he said looking at my door sticker is 5 days for my brithday .

It's been so long since I followed the codes. I don't know if this is what your asking, but do know your car is built when you hit 3800

2001 Order generated to dealer
2005 Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050 Order changed
2500 Order sent to production
3000 Order accepted by production control
3100 Order available to sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400 Order broadcasted for production
3800 Vehicle produced
4150 Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200 Vehicle shipped
5000 Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000 Vehicle delivered to customer

Even with the 6 digit order number? PM Becky with your VIN and/or order number. If anyone could get it I would guess Becky could!!

I think it is more like 30 hours on the line to build a Camaro.

A Little off topic so I do apologize but does anybody know if you can get these codes and dates that they were applied to your car even if you already recieved it? Do they have a history log on cars produced during a 2010 model run?

When we visited the Oshawa plant last June we where told it takes 18 hours to build. The plant produces an average of 52 cars per hour...Yes 52.....

Actuallay the tag in the engine bay suspension is produced at the Ajax Plant some 14 Km away from Oshawa and on the average the front-rear suspension in fabricated some 4 hours before it's attached to the car itself.
So I say it's the day of prodution when the car is finished.
When the suspension is attached it takes less than half an hour before the car goes out of the assembly line...

I was there June 10-12 2011

I was told if they have no delays in the build process it takes 18 hours to build but the production date is the date it was completed.
