In 1971 as a senior in NY I had a 66 Galaxie 500 with a Boss 302 engine, gas was .25 per gallon and smokes were .20 per pack. Boy have the times changed, especially for the smokes. LOL

BOOM! This puts you all to shame! 1991/92 was the year for this beast. FIRST CAR EVER. Am only radio, heater that did not work and the great RUST year for FORD on this car - Lost my bumper on main street in reynoldsburg, ohio - after a speed bump. copy behind me ran over said bumper blew out two front tires.

In 1983 got a 1968 Camaro, 250 cube 6, 3-speed on the floor, header, turbo mufflers & American Racing rims. Striped like a Z28 and "funner than hell". You like the '74 Dodge Dart in the background?
Now you really know why I dig RJT so much

Well, my family wasn't what you would call "rich", or even well off. We couldn't afford more than one car and that was the Toyota my Mom drove back and forth to work.
However, in the fall of 1983 when I got married, my hubby bought me a new "used" car for $700. A 1976 AMC Pacer. It was Silver and was had an automatic transmission and air conditioning plus leather seats (I think). It was no Camaro, he got to drive that 67SS as it was his. But I didn't care, I had wheels and I was happy! We took it on our honeymoon and were so happy to have that air conditioning too! It was mid October and a Heat Wave took over in California as we headed down to Phoenix. Best investment for a first time car. I wonder if we have any pictures of it? I found this picture on the internet of a 1975 Pacer, close enough. Yes, it was like driving in a fish bowl, you could see EVERYTHING.

The 02 Alero was my first car. It was fairly new when I got my license. It was more of a family car that I drove when no one else was using it that turned into my car as it got older. I still have it as my commuter/winter car. 127K miles, and still looks and runs great. I plan on getting several more years out of it.
Wow, you blew up a slant-6!?!? I didn't think that was possible.
