Thanks for the info. One of the reasons I posted this question is that I thought when I first got the car I actually heard the notifications through the stereo sometimes; but haven't heard any in a long time. Wasn't sure if I had accidentaly changed a setting or what was going on. Now that you mention it and I think about it, I was playing most of my music from my phone at that time. Now that I have discovered "hair nation" on XM I am always listening to that and not using the music on my phone.

My 2013 ram is the same way. I can read my texts or have them read to me... I can even reply, but only when I'm stopped.

My neighbors new cr-v is the same way. I don't understand why you have to wait to text back via speech until stopped. I feel like its the same thing as talking on the phone.
