I had a guy that had a old dodge truck at a car meet. This your camaro? I said yes it was. Oh...I really don't know much about them he said but I've heard they blow up a lot. I looked him right in the eyes and said .." Your right you don't know shat about them " The conversation ended right there.

I've never gotten a negative comment so far after three months of ownership. I've gotten positive comments from strangers on occasion, even while stopped at red lights. It says a lot about this car because it's a five year old design and people still see it as a novelty. I live in a small blue collar city so there aren't many fifth gen Camaros here. I assume in larger metro areas, especially in Michigan, fifth gen Camaros are more prevalent, therfore not as novel.

I get the V6 and auto comments once in a while. The people making the comment always seem to have a shitbox car themselves- so I just tell them the Camaro is my work commuter beater.

Last week I was at a gas station fueling up one of our company trucks, the guy next to filling up his LS1. I asked him how he liked it, he replied I Love It.
I said it was beautiful. He said thanks, but it's only a v-6.

I was surprised that he seemed to dis his own car.

I told him that's nothing to be ashamed of, that it has more HP than most small block muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.

I get the "it's a Camaro so it only goes straight" thing a lot lol. Pretty funny.

One that kind of annoys me and I'm sure the V6 guys understand this, I get the "oh it's just an SS I thought it was a ZL1" comment a little more often than I'd like. I'm assuming because of the wheels people think it's a ZL1 at first glance.

However the positive comments far outweigh the bad. I love it when someone comes up to me and knows what a 1LE is too. I do take some pride in owning a Camaro with very low if not the lowest (not sure if lower than Z28?) production numbers as well as the history and pedigree the 1LE has.

So last night some high school kid says to me "Nice SS...Want me to go get my uncle's Hellcat?" I said to him "Want me to go get my 9-second Nova?"...He shut right up!

I get kids asking if it is a transformer, I just tell them no, it's a decepticon get em to stand behind it and remote start it. Most of the time the little ones freak out.

from 5 to 90 they all love it..
how can u not love the camaro?

Don't worry, once people get past the compliments of the aqua blue, some ask why I didn't get a ZL1. They didn't make a ZL1 in 2010 folks and there aren't any ABM ZL1's.

I've had the local ricer kids give me a thumbs-down on the road. They hang out in a shopping plaza in a little town near me. The best way I screw with them is when I park near their group of cars and walk by, I compliment them on their cars. Kill 'em with kindness. Had a discussion with a kid who had an old ragged out but slightly custom import and told him that anyone who chooses one brand or type of car and thinks all other suck is missing out on a lot of what being a 'car guy' is. He seemed to take it to heart, so maybe I saved one.

I have had more positive remarks than negative ones. It was funny when I first purchased it,one of my neighbours made a remark that I was going to make the neighbourhood look bad. I said what do you mean by that? Will nobody on this street drives a nice car like that, so my response was, lady they make more of those, so go get one at the dealer. The kids take a liking to it because of the movie,which I don't know if that's a good thing or not, making sure they don't scratch it ,but kids are kids they like those kinds of cars.
