Should add Martin Smallwood to that list also as he does a lot of the grudge cars in Louisiana and Mississippi. Starting to make his way into the scene now that people are finding out about the 6th gens that he's had his hand in.

Honestly there is going to be NO way around running a huge camshaft without a decent size converter. No ifs, ands, or buts about it... Also look into to LG for road course stuff. They do very well with that kind of racing.

I'm very impressed with Brian Huntsbarger at Dinosaur Juice Tuning, tuning ECM/TCM.

If we were to start a thread on "Best Tuners", we would end up with 25 to 50 names, probably.

I'm speaking solely for Na applications. What Pray and GPI have done for the Na game has been unmatched. From the R&D they do on new products to the time they put in tuning these cars there's a reason they sit up on top of most fast lists.

There’s nobody better as far as gen v lt N/A setups go. They are innovators and don’t follow what anybody else is doing. Ryan and Ben tuned my car for 2 weeks after the build was done. James and Zach at GPI also kept me up to date with my build every step of the way.

Personally I’m not a fan of GPI, but in this case, I would be paying for validated valvetrain stability. The top dog for THAT is Katech.

Agreed. Monster cam that’s rough on valve train is the opposite of what you need for a road race application

I agree as well. If I was a road course racer Katech would be my go to. There is no need for a monster cam on a track car.

I bet it runs flawlessly now too. The attention to detail and their customer service are two big reasons why I run some of their parts in my car.

I would agree...Friend of mine had some issues with them on his Turbo SS. Was also surprised with the tune. The thing would hit like .88 Lambda before the Meth would come on. They tuned it on Meth even after he spent money on fuel so it didn't need the meth. They also couldn't figure out why it wouldn't control boost. Changed controllers and same issue...ended up being the waste gate spring. This is all after they had his car for like 9 months. The car sat outside long enough that some of the fasteners in the engine bay were rusted.

On the other hand I have also heard several good reports with them over the years but they have mainly been NA builds.

I have problems with the car with rev match on. GPI is the 3rd tuner to tell me that there isn’t anything they can do. As far as everything else goes I couldn’t be happier.

Yeah, boosted tuning with with running METH and perhaps a second set of injectors as well and things can become very COMPLEX. I would guess there are just a handful of tuners that can handle all that although many more have attempted it for sure. I guess you REALLY have to know what the engine wants and when (the ENGINE Whisperer, lol).

We have done a lot of work for the COPO program as well. Valvetrain stability is extremely important regardless of the type of racing you do.
