RS 2012 question

Hello Everyone,

Question is with all the Mods to the standard equipment on the Camaro im curious if the RS package is even worth it anymore.

Non-RS package has a spoiler the RS tail lamps so essentially your paying $1500 for rims and Halo's?

The reason im asking im going to be ordering a 2012 and get GM Discount so if I decide to go non-rs I would more then likely go with the LS manual. 23,000 is a nice price tag and then later on mod it with the headlights and foglights.

Or could go with 1 LT w/ RS for about 27,000 maybe 28,000 price can be an issue since this is my first car. Just wanted to know your guys thoughts

Thanks!

I agree. IMO, the RS package is not worth the cost.

I ordered my 2012 as a 1LT, and then added the 19" wheel/tire package for only $750 more. The 19" rims look very much like the 20" rims, and will save you a bundle when you buy new tires in the future.

I will upgrade the headlamp bulbs with HELLA Xenon Blue lamps, and you get a bright look, and save a bunch.

I used some of that savings to buy the rear vision package, which you gotta have with the huge blind spot of this car.

IMHO the RS package is worth it on the 1LT & 2LT. I would not order the Camaro with out this package.

-20" wheels
-HID headlamps w/ halo rings
-RS tail lamps
-Speedo not limited
-roof ditch molding body colored

Sir....its WORTH IT.....if for nothing more than the HID's. if you have never driven with HIDs, you need to, it makes a world of difference, I personally will never have another car without them. Not to mention, if you retro fit then in later, just the price of the lights alone is right at $1600. and the spoiler, it completes the look, can you buy one after market or off ebay and install it, sure you can.....but then you will be needing to DRILL HOLES in your trunk lid. I LOVE the 20's......so with that said....the RS Pkg is a STEAL.

AND BTW......YES I have one.....I bought a 2LT/RS

It also adds body colored XM antenna on the 2012 model. All Camaros have the darker tail lights now. Like others said, it's worth it just for the headlights.

Its definitly worth it and needs it. You're already paying upwards of 30k for a Camaro so why not get the full package with the Halos, 20's, spoilers and LED tail lights? Thats weird to me. If you're spending 30K on a car and another 1,500 is gonna make or break you, then you probably shouldn't be spending 30k on the car in the first place. Just my own opinion

20" Pirelli Tires are $1000 alone so your getting all the other stuff for around $500.

Money isn't so much the issue. I am a young professional in IT. So money really isn't the issue but I have been out of college just shy of 2 years. I am used to being Cheap to get by and now I have a good paying job and banking money like crazy it is hard for me to get out of the mindset I have been in the past 4-5 yrs.

So just making sure it is worth the extra money then to get.
