Help me decide please.......

Asking the community for help on deciding what car to get. The car will be a weekend toy. Occasional car show, long drive, and a 1/4 mile track 2-3 times a year. Any advice and opinion welcome good or bad lol. Thanks.
1) 2015 ZL1 A6 convertible, 3,400 senior driven country miles. $45,600 from a dealer, certified pre-owned. Pristine condition
2) 2017 Corvette A8, 1lt, performance exhaust, Brand New, $49,735

I have to make a decision by tomorrow because I'm picking one of them up Saturday morning! HELP!!!

Looks like the Corvette is priced better. Tough choice but I almost always lean towards a new car after a certain price point; Thus my answer would be Corvette. Shop the other dealers and see if you can get it cheaper (that's a good price for a c7 though).

The ZL1 is way too expensive and I don't care how nice it is.

Vette is definitely the best decision here. And it's a superior car anyways.

Corvette, I originally said ZL1 because supercharged but that is way too much of an asking price.

Not only is the C7 nearly as quick if not quicker stock than the ZL1 due to weight/tech, but adding a real blower to the LT1 is good for 700-900 RWHP which you can run on the stock bottom end/clutch/rear end etc. The Stingray is a helluva car and when done right with the good ground effects/wheels, one helluva pretty car.

I agree, but not being able to get my 280lb frame into a 6th gen Zl1 recaro, the vert seemed like a good option. I sold my 13 ZL1 because Long Island got so crowded it was not much fun any longer with the stick. My intention was to upgrade to a 6th Gen ZL1 but there just to small. The 15 I fiound is in mint condition but 45,600 seemed pricey for me also. I figured convertible cars cost more. A friend said what about a vette. I drove one and they seemed quick and the car felt great. But the 15 ZL1 vert is really appealing. This is a hard decision.

Vette unless you have a need for a backseat.

What they said.
Did you get in and out of the vette and think it was an issue if you were in a tight parking lot?
The ZL1 is dealer priced. I think the ZL1 would carry slightly more interest at a car show but the new vette is quite appealing.
I agree with the rest, vette with those two choices. If you were talking a mid $30k's ZL1 it's a tougher call.
Edit: Looks like from ebay valuations the ZL1 is fair market priced, however I'd still go vette at those prices.

Both sweet rides.

I paid that last year form my hard top 2014 with more miles from CarMax.
It's loaded but no push-button start.

Entrance and Egress would be my decider.

if they are both cool and nice to drive, and fits the need I'd get the one that was easier to get in and out of.

Not sure if that helps.

No discussion there's NO WAY anyone should pay that much money for a 5th gen ZL1. If they took $42,000 then I'd say ok, maybe. But even at a $7,000 delta the Vette is a better car/deal.

There is more to the story of a toy car purchase than just the economics of the decision.

That being said, the price on the ZL1 is not at all out of the realm of fair market value, particularly when the low mileage is considered.

I think what it should come down to is which car you see yourself getting more enjoyment out of, period, and then drill down on the best deal.

I came close to buying a Vette before I bought my ZL1, and at the end of the day I decided that the ZL1 was easier to live with, more unique, and that I am more of a muscle car guy than a vette guy at this stage.

Good luck.
