Since I'll be getting the RPM roll bars, I decided (finally) on the right seat for my setup. I'm going with STATUS Ring GTs. I'm getting them custom done in Black Leather Outer with Diamond Stitch Ultrasuede in the center. All with OEM matching Orange stitching. I will also be ordering additional materials so the upholster at AltAuto can match the rear seats to the front. Should turn out really nice. The diamond stitch is a nice throw back design.

I went back and forth for a while on seat brand, seat type, seat styling, and I ultimately decided on the fixed back to safely run a 6 point harness and since I have the roll bars I'll maintain track compliance with these seats. It's a plus that they are FIA compliant. From what I've researched people love these seats and even being fixed back are very comfortable for weekend drives and even long drives. Plus I really like that these are manufactured and assembled in the US.

Here is a pic of the render for my setup.

Very nice! Going to my local Status dealer today to check them out and hopefully place an order. I have to thank you for the posting the question on the forum regarding seats! I had read no other serious inquiries about changing seats. Thanks for the "push" in confirming my decision to change seats.

Sure thing, anything I can do to help.

I've had all my discussions with Michael at STATUS since I don't have a local dealer. He has been really great to work with and the service level is top notch.

Hey Sharp ZL1 - I forgot to mention, that I am actually going with the GT-X for the narrower top from the Ring and the slightly larger bottom since I'm 6'0 and about 190lbs. I think that the fit will be more appropriate. Also, the narrower top will be helpful since I'm going to have the roll bars.

I now know why! I sat in the Ring GT earlier and my back and hips actually fit. The lower leg portion is way too tight. I thought we were over the "European/Asian" sized fittings for people in America. Please get a clue manufacturers, I'm not a female and starving myself to fit into a dress!? WTF do they want to sell seats or what? They are an American based company make a Frakkin custom sized seat for bigger sized people. I'm 6'0 240lbs it's not that difficult? Never was a problem with my size as a Firefighter! Not a problem when I bought my Cobra seats, they fit at first sitting. I have never been small. The Status dealer took measurements and will call his source. Thank you rant over!

Did they have the GTX there as well? Yeah most fixed back seats are very snug. It does make a significant difference on the track though. The spa seems nice and a decent chunk wider as too. Seats are much like shoes, will drive you nuts and create discomfort if they don't fit right. However, you get a good quality shoe and a good fit, you can go for hours comfortably.
