To the OP,

I must give my apologies. Though I did not begin the thread jack, I did however contribute. For this I apologize. Most everyone here is correct. I agree that all's well that end's well, it made the little boys day, the fathers day, though agreed may not have been the best way to go about it, and it seems to have made the OP's day as well. My son is almost 2 now and I would hope that if my son wanted to see a car or whatever, for his birthday that someone would be happy to oblige. Too bad it can't stay at face value, a great story and a a great day for everyone involved!

Great story Jekyll Im glad to hear that you made that little guys day. I would have to say i would do the same thing. I also live in West Fort Worth and I can honestly say that ever Fort Worth police officer that I have dealt with were very professional and have let me go with a warning more times than I can count.

Lol I love this story, it just made my day.

Very cool of you to do that.

I disagree! As an engineer I can't think of a single un-written benefit to be had. Just a lot of noise from friends about "rocket scientists" and not nearly enough respect and admiration from the ladies for it. And I'm not even going around with a pocket protector or thick-rimmed glasses!

VERY cool of you to do that, but you DO realize that by providing his first name and his sons first name, he is going to get fired over this, right?

My friend that's a lieutenant over @ Ft.Worth PD saw this story and was LIVID because the officer went against department policy and NO minor children can be in a squad car unless they're 16 and part of the Explorer program.

Do the guy a favor and edit the story
