I went to my dealer yesterday morning, the service writer was very friendly and they did try to fix it. I showed them the TSB. They flashed the newest software that they had access too...so it's still DB/DB...and the problem is still there...iPod gets static a lot and once in a while has random issues communicating with the car.

How come others are getting upgraded to DB/DD, but my dealer can only get DB/DB? And what do I do now? They seem to think I'm just SOL, but it seems to me that if there's a way to get to DB/DD, and if DB/DD solves the issues I'm having (constant rebooting of my iPod Nano, lots of songs showing up as "...", inability to power off the radio during bluetooth calls, sometimes the menu button stops working until I turn the car off and back on again, etc.), then I should be able to get to DB/DD somehow, right?

Help?

Tell your Rep that you need to get the LATEST AND GREATEST HW/SW (DB/DD) IS #22797218

20927509 which gives DA/DX
20985421 which gives DB/DB
22797218 which gives DB/DD

I had the same issue when I brought mine in. basically, the Tech didn't follow the TSB exactly. If they did, there is a step that says to replace the PDIM. It sounds like all they did was reflash it.

I would bring it back in along with a hard copy of the TSB. Walk through the first few steps to show that it doesn't have the right version. Don't accept the car back until it has the correct version.

I would be willing to bet.....the same thing happened to Mike that has happened to a lot of folks......and that is that the service departments records have the WRONG p/n in their data base as the replacement part for the upgrade. Its happened time and time again. And that us why when I went in to get mine done....I took the TSB in with me....I verified the correct part number was in stock and if it wasn't, for them to order it, and they did....my service manager got the right one overnighted to them. IF they already installed a new PDIM and it wasn't the lates/greatest part (DB/DD) depending on the service manager....they may or may not get the right one and replace it, as that is what they SHOULD do. As it was someones falt that you didn't get the correct part installed....adn it wasn't YOU!

Unfortunately, that's not correct. The TSB says that if you have the DB hardware, you don't order a new PDIM, you just flash to the latest software. Unfortunately, the latest software that the dealers have access to is DB.

So, only those w/ hardware versions older than DB get a new PDIM. And when they get the new PDIM, they get DD software, which seems to resolve the problems.

So, basically, the TSB doesn't solve the issue if you have DB hardware but DON'T have DD software.

So, my car is back in the shop today, and they're going to see what more they can do. Hopefully order a new PDIM.

So, they called me, and said that GM Tech Services told them to order a new PDIM module. Great right? Except that when I asked the part number they ordered, they said it was 20985421, which is the exact same piece of junk one I have now.

The service advisor said that's all he can do, because that's what GM Tech Services told him to do. I asked him if I could talk to GM Tech Services, and he said no. So, tomorrow, when I pick up the car again, and it still has DB/DB, and it still doesn't work, what do I do?

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks to the information in this thread I've got my 2010 at the dealership right now to replace the PDIM module........I was on CB / CE

Unfortunately they don't have the modules in stock so I won't know what they're installing until their radio/electronics specialist gets in tomorrow with the part..............I hope it's one of thew two newer ones though!

I'll post details once I get my car back.

So, my dealership service department called back today. They said they spoke to GM Tech Services again, and GM Tech Services told them that the 22797218 part number which gives DB/DD isn't for the Camaro, and that installing it voids your warranty.

Clearly, I'm just not going to get my PDIM module working like it's supposed to. Now I'm supposed to bring it in for a FIFTH day and let them jack around with it again all day just so they can do jack squat again.

No thanks. Just wish I didn't have to pay for something that doesn't work.

whomever they taked to, that is if they even talked to anyone....they have their head up their butt. I just got that very module installed by my dealer UNDER WARRANTEE. For starters you need to find another dealer.....as the one you have been going to has no idea what they are doing.

ALSO, you should go ahead and contact Jeff Morris, Chevrolet Customer Service (his forum name here is Chevrolet Customer Svc) He's a Chevy Service Rep.....he's on C5, and allow him to help you. There is NO REASON you should be having this hard of a time to get your car RIGHT.

I've been talking with Jeff. He's checking into the situation for me. The funny thing is that my service advisor told me that Jeff is the person who said that they can't install that unit in my Camaro. That's clearly not what happened.
