ok, guys, now you are scaring me again on buying one of these verts. i am looking at new 13 yet, but i dont want to spend 35K for a car thats in the garage most of the time. and i know, it will keep the miles off the car, but thats not the way i want to own a car. i want it in MY garage, not Theirs!!

Don't be so paranoid I have had mine for 14 months and over 15,000 miles with probably 1200 + top cycles and has never spent overnight in a garage yet, mine or theirs. You are over reacting.
A 13 is built with the new top that I am getting. You should have no problems with the 13.

Mine was built in September of 2011, there have been several improvements in the top design since then and a completely new frame and canvas, mine still had the old design. As far as I know there have not been any reports of the late 2012 or 2013 tops with the previous issues causing top replacement. A 13 should be fine.

I'm lucky so far I guess. Mine is an early '12, same build time as Angrybird's and the only issue that I have is the 'V' wear spots over the doors. I have 21K miles on it and won't take it in until about 30K are on it because I am afraid that something else will get goofed up!

Hope I didn't just jinx myself.......

Well me too, I thought that I just had something minor but it tuned into getting a whole new top. I guess GM finally learned their lesson and instead of fighting tooth and nail at the convertible issues they would just replace the top and get it over with.

It will be fine. I think everything built after April 2012 has the new design top and water management bag.

kevinw - As far as the tops go, I owned an '11 that got the wear marks and had it replaced in April of '12, no problems with the install and no problems afterwards. I only got rid of it because I wanted the manual.
I now own a '13, built on 4/18/13..................I am enjoying every day with this car.............It has never failed that when I am out and about someone gives me a thumbs up or nice car etc.
The 'vert was made to enjoy with the top down! If you think you'll be worried than get the coupe.........otherwise enjoy the Camaro Convertible in all it's glory.
