Mid Rise Lift
I'm in the market for a lift in my garage. Does anyone have or have experience with mid rise lifts? Seen a couple online, but rather here from some that have used.

MaxJax
I ended up getting a MaxJax and am super happy with it.

Looks like you have a really good slab. How deep did you have to go to anchor? Would be worried about those folding in, not sure how great my slab is?

If it were me, I would probably remove a large area of the floor to dig it out deeper, pour it back say 6" thick and 6' × 6' area under each post. With rebar. Normal garage floors are not designed for car lifts. Don't know how thick my floor is but my driveway is less than 3 " thick and hollow sounding when I roll the floor jack across it. I have no faith that my garage floor is any better. Good luck.

I'd also spend whatever extra it might cost to upgrade the concrete in those new pads from MaxJax's minimum-spec (3000 psi???) to maybe 4000 psi. The difference in concrete strength is mainly determined by how much water goes into the mix.

I am opting for a 4-post from the Liftsuperstore for my garage.

Actually it is the water/cement ratio. My choice would be redimix. It would be a short load but the overall quality is better, also not having to pickup all the premix and haul home etc. Is worth something.

haha, The Cadillac/Camaro combo is perfect . Mine is a 99 Deville. I just reworked most of the suspension (especially Knuckle bushings) as well as re-dies the seats & steering wheel. The the car runs and looks almost like new

If I remember correctly you need at least 3.5 inches of 3000psi concrete with not cracks per the manufacturer. Last edited by sswiss3000; 03-06-2015 at 08:34 PM. |

Great planning sswiss3000. Those f****ers arnt going anywhere. I was looking at a house to buy and the garage had a lift in it already.. had 3/4in. Cracks. Near where the lift was. Passed on it.
