what tool did you use for compressing the valve springs. I bought the TrickFlow dual spring compressor and it sucks! When compressing the springs shift from side to side making it almost impossible unless you are standing directly over top of them which is impossible on cylinders in the rear.

I made a single spring compressor. Out of a steel plate. Easy. I had a thread for my cam change around november 2013. I also included a drawing of the plate. Yeah I bought the double spring compressor..sucked.

i used the trick flow and it worked fine. you have to lube the threads of the bolt

Loosening the starter got me another 3/4" of pan drop. The casting flash on the pan gets stuck on the edge of the starter.
