Who's really buying a ZL1?
Since their is still a lot of speculation and changes to come with the ZL1, I have seen where a lot of people throughout threads have stated they know right now they are going to buy. Are some just claiming they are going to buy this awesome car?
Yes, I know for sure I'm going to buy. No, I do not plan on buying the ZL1. Undecided, I'm going to wait and see. Personally, I'm going to wait and see, or either get a SS and supercharge it. What are you going to do? (This isn't too bash pricing etc. no one even knows it yet) Last edited by AUS10BMX; 05-11-2011 at 07:47 PM. |

I'm in the "wait until the dealer markups go away" category.

For reals! I already traded my 2SS in for a car with a much lower monthly payment and better mpg so that I might save for a couple of years. I really do miss that Camaro...

Yes, I am. Already have a deposit at a local dealer to hold a spot in line. But I will use another dealer if this one does not honor supplier pricing.

I am ready to buy. Cash. Only two issues I have about timing 1)Automatic coming 2)Might the 6 month wait from January 2012 to August 2012 be worth the wait to get a 2013 Model. Hell, back in the 60's, the 1969 and 1970 were the top years for Camaro. They never repeated during my lifetime. So, 2012 / 2012 could be a rare event for such a vehicle. The ponycar wars may be short lived due to govt regulation, gas prices.

I'm in the "I couldn't care less about the ZL1" group. If I was going to drop $50+ grand on a car... It sure as hell wouldn't be a Camaro. Don't get me wrong, I love my car but not for that kind of money.

If I wait for the next model with more power or newer features, I'll forever be waiting. It's like buying a new cell phone. But you're right that the ponycar wars are going to move from big V8's to turbo- and super-charged V6's. The era of V8 rumble is going away, regulated into oblivion. I'd rather own a piece of history now, while I'm young enough to enjoy it |

Exactly my stance. I kinda think if anyone pays sticker they're getting screwed. Maybe not, but that's how I'm programmed. I've never paid at MSRP or over for any GM car since my first new one back in '82. Ever. And don't ever plan to. That's why I'll wait. At SOME point you'll be able to get them for under MSRP, or get a slightly used one. That'll be ok, too.
