Ya know there are many turboed 4 bangers that pump out as much as our V6's. Maybe if the camaro goes on a diet and gets slimmer It might an interesting option?
I had an AWD Mazda pumping out 343AWHP/352AWTQ before the Camaro! It was...FAST.

To answer OPs question, I wouldn't be mad because I love my SS!

Camaro and 4 cyl should not be used in the same sentence. IMO!

I wouldn't care at all.......I don't plan to buy a Z28 b/c I'm perfectly happy with my 2SS/RS. Guess it would make all of our cars worth a lot more.

I had a 84 Camaro with the 4 banger in it, with a manual transmission. It was not as slow as one might think, traded in a Porsche 911 since the insurance on it costs more in 1 year than I paid for the car.

The insurance on the Camaro was considered a "family car", so insurance was dirt cheap, well was less expensive considering the number of tickets I accumulated over 5 years of driving.

Some day it might have a 4cyl or hybrid drivetrain. Whatever it is will still be performance oriented, but when they stop offering a V8 so has everyone else or they will have killed it again.

Don't kid yourself, if GM is to stay with tradition the Iron Duke will make a comeback

I'd rather see them kill the Camaro than disgrace the name with a 4 cylinder engine again...

hmmm, 2021 camaro, weighs 3034 lbs (ss would be 3156), has a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder with 280 horse power, and 310 torque. the SS would have the 3.6 twin turbo pushing 435 horse power and 435 torque. And of course they will reduce drive train loss to 6%.

id still buy one. and each would KILL a 5th gen at the current stock power levels. The engine outputs will certainly be achievable, since we already have a 2.0 that gets 295 torque. the hardest thing would be to reduce the drive train loss.

any one else interested?

oh, and the SS would get 31 mpg highway, and the ls/lt would be at about 37.

How mad would you be if the GM decided to put out an Iron Duke II instead of the Z/28??

I know they probably won't bring it back any time soon but who knows what they have planned for the future
If they ever brought back a 4-cylinder Camaro...it wouldn't be a total dog. The name and reputation as a world-class car is too important to them to do that.

Guess they'll have to compromise half way. 5-cylinder engine. Do they still make the 5-cyl Colorado, the "power of a six and efficiency of a four."

To answer the original question, that would be a 10 on the anger scale and a 15 on the "It's just April fools" scale.
