My wife is 4'10. She bought a nice color-matching pillow. Now she can see more than the tops of the buildings.

Shims and longer bolts would not hurt a damn thing. The seat belt and air bags would still work the same. Solid or tubular shims and Grade 5 or better bolts would work fine. You just don't have adjustability for taller passengers. That's where the booster option may be the better option till someone makes an adjustable height seat.

Quote from fbodfather back in September:
It's not quite that simple to put spacers under the seat - -(again, those pesky 800 sensors...)I am hoping we can offer a retro-kit. (Mom Settlemire has threatened to 'ground' the entire team until we do....)
We would have to offer two different kits -- as cloth seats do not have heaters -- leathers do.....there IS a difference!
More to come.

GM really needs to address this. My wife is only 5' tall and this issue is giving me pause on making a purchase. When you design a car with side windows as short as they are on the Camaro, seat height adjustment is a critical issue. Who wants to cruise around in a car they can't see out of?

I have to admit, my first ride was in the passenger seat. The dealer drove it off the lot. The first think I said was if the driver seat is the same as this one, "hell no". Thankfully the drivers seat adjusted up. I wish the passenger was the same. I get the same complaint from anyone under 5'10"

One person is 4ft 8 another is 6ft 8. Who is safer? If a person is raised 1 inch artifically does it make a differene in saftey over natural difference of 1 inch in height.

We're driving and she says, "Dad, I can see the tops of the buildings!" That was so cute, but I feel so bad for her.
hello! she is seven. she should be in the back seat. the air bag will break her neck in a crash.

Its funny how everyone says their wife complains. My wife would have definately complained. She decided to cheat on me so I left, got the car I had been eyeing up and put my girlfriend in the passenger seat. She has not complained one to me about it. She just loves being in it and I don't mind driving it...love this car
