As I mentioned a couple times earlier in the thread, the paint cracked.

I've had 6 estimates!!! So do you think the 7th estimate will be cheaper, or did you not read the thread?

Just curious.....are you paying out of pocket or insurance?

Mine is right on the bubble since I have a $500 deductible. I'm just going to pay out of pocket because the bascially $400 extra I have to come up with isn't worth the claim. If it were $1200 I might have had to claim.

I am SUCH an idiot. Over the weekend I was installing the new ******** box I bought from another member. I was holding the box, swung around and nailed the car. Unfortunately the paint cracked around the dent. End results...$1200 to fix the dent and repaint the quarter panel (all the way up and over the door). It's in the body shop now... Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but here...
Don't be too hard on yourself. Mishaps are inevitable and one does learn from them. Best wishes on getting this taken care of quickly.

Maybe its the cost of living in your area I don't know but I hope you get it fixed. I feel your pain. I wasn't trying to give you a hard time.

You should have shopped around for quotes. That sounds a bit much.

No worries, when I reread my post I noticed my tone came across wrong... my appologies.

No, I'm paying out of pocket. I'm afraid if I submit a claim it will end up getting put into "the system" and would show up as something worse than it really is on something like a carfax. Don't know if this is true or not, but it's not something I wanted to take a chance on.

It's the body shop that will or will not put the repair on carfax. Not the claim.
